FIFA referees return to NPFL for Week 3 matches

The Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL is set to benefit from the return of FIFA badged referees for Week 3 matches. After serving in various continental competitions, these top referees are expected to enhance the quality of officiating in the NPFL.

Among the returning officials is Dr. Joseph Ogabor, a well known FIFA referee who recently officiated AFCON and CAF Champions League qualifiers. He will oversee the game between Nasarawa United and Elkanemi Warriors at the Lafia Township Stadium on September 21. He will be supported by his brother Ogar Linus and Oladoja Muyiwa from Oyo State as Assistant Referee 1. The officiating team will be evaluated by Dr. Alex Mana, a respected FIFA official and lecturer.

Other notable appointments include Nurudeen Abubakar for Rangers International vs. Bayelsa United on October 2 and Abubakar Abdulahi, who will officiate Sunshine Stars vs. Abia Warriors on September 22. Additionally, FIFA referee Hannah Eliagwu will take charge of the women’s match between Kano Pillars and Remo Stars.
