Swedish club IFK Goteborg have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku from Tripple 44 Football Academy, with the youngster putting pen to paper on a three-year contract at the 18 time Allsvenskan champions.
IFK Goteborg football director Jesper Jansson welcomed the arrival, describing Olowoporoku as a young, developable player the club believes can eventually compete for a place in the first team. He was clear that the club views the signing as a long term project rather than someone expected to have an immediate impact this season, saying the coaching staff will work closely with him over time to support his development.
The club’s scouting manager, David Vukovic, echoed that assessment, describing Olowoporoku as a compact but intense central midfielder capable of playing in multiple positions across the middle of the park. He said the club had studied him closely and gotten to know him within their own environment, identifying both his strengths and the areas he still needs to develop.
Vukovic added that the club balances short term results with long term squad planning, and that signings like Olowoporoku are part of an approach that also leaves room for academy graduates to progress through the ranks.
