Serie A side Lazio are exploring a late move for Super Eagles winger Philip Otele, according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs cited.

The Italian club have made an enquiry about the 27-year-old and are considering a loan deal that would include an option to buy. Talks remain at an early stage, with no agreement yet reached between Lazio and Otele’s parent club, FC Basel, and no guarantee the deal will be completed before the deadline.

A Season Of Movement

Otele spent the second half of last season on loan at Bundesliga club Hamburg SV after joining them from Basel in February, making nine Bundesliga appearances and registering a goal and an assist during his time in Germany. He returned to Basel at the end of the campaign after Hamburg opted not to make the move permanent.

The versatile forward is contracted to the Swiss giants until the summer of 2028, after they exercised their option to sign him permanently from UAE side Al Wahda in June 2025.
