Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will learn their group-stage opponents for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship when the draw takes place on Thursday.
The draw ceremony is scheduled for the Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The draw for the second edition of the WAFU B U-17 Girls’ Cup will also be conducted at the same venue on the same day, with Nigeria among seven countries competing in that tournament alongside Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, hosts Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Niger Republic.
Building Toward The Tournament
The Golden Eaglets, led by head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere, are intensifying preparations for the championship in Abuja. The squad played two friendly matches against Simonben Academy of Kaduna and Galadima FC last weekend as part of their build up to the competition.
A Route To The 2027 Africa U-17 Cup Of Nations
The WAFU B U-17 Championship will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. Burkina Faso will host the competition from 4 to 17 October 2026.
