Lagos to Host NPFL AGM from July 15-16

Lagos is set to host the Annual General Meeting AGM of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL from July 15-16. The AGM will focus on deliberations for the upcoming 2024/25 season, which is scheduled to commence on August 31, 2024.

In preparation for the new season, some clubs have been instructed to carry out remedial work to ensure their grounds meet the Facility Requirements of the Club Licensing Regulations. The Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, congratulated the clubs on the successful completion of the 2023/24 season and extended an invitation to the AGM through a letter dated July 2.

The letter emphasized the importance of the AGM for the earnest preparations and kickoff of the new season. Additionally, clubs were informed about the unacceptable conditions of their playing turfs and the absence of essential broadcast support facilities, such as elevated camera stands. Clubs like Abia Warriors, Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars, and Kwara United, among others, were directed to upgrade their facilities or face the prospect of playing on alternative grounds.
