Nigeria international Terem Moffi is set to undergo a medical at Bundesliga club Hamburg ahead of a permanent transfer from OGC Nice.

According to transfer expert Fabrice Hawkins, Hamburg have reached an agreement with Nice worth €2.5 million including bonuses for the 27 year old striker. Moffi is expected to undergo his medical on Saturday before signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029.

A Loan Spell That Reignited His Form

The move follows a loan spell at Portuguese giants FC Porto in the second half of last season, where Moffi registered one goal and one assist in nine league appearances and was part of the squad that won the Portuguese league title.

A Difficult Final Chapter In Nice

Moffi’s exit from Nice comes after a troubled end to his time at the club. He and several teammates were attacked by supporters after getting off the team bus following a 3-1 away defeat to his former club Lorient last November, an incident that saw him placed on sick leave for a week before his loan move to Porto was arranged.

Despite that difficult ending, Moffi leaves Nice with a strong overall record, having scored 24 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions for the club since arriving on loan from Lorient in January 2023, a move made permanent later that year.
