A thriller in Katsina
Katsina United beat Enyimba 4-2 in an NPFL Matchday 8 thriller at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday. The result ended Enyimba’s three-match unbeaten run in the league. FootballInNigeria.com.ng reports that the hosts led 2-0 at half-time before surviving a scare.
Katsina United went ahead in the sixth minute when Emeka Onyema turned the ball into his own net. Mubarak Sani doubled the lead six minutes later, and the Ikon Allah Boys kept that cushion to the break.
Luis Dadong made it 3-0 in the 60th minute, which seemed to put the hosts firmly in control. Enyimba, however, hit back with two goals in eight minutes.

Enyimba’s late fightback
Chidera Michael pulled one back in the 67th minute, and Charles Egbe made it 3-2 in the 75th. With the visitors pushing for an equaliser, the match had turned into a real contest.
Umar Rabiu ended the comeback hopes with the hosts’ fourth goal in the 80th minute. It was an entertaining finish to a game that swung back and forth after the break.

What it means for both clubs
Katsina United were winless in two league games before the match, drawing 1-1 with Rivers United and Inter Lagos. The win gives the Ikon Allah Boys a lift while a FIFA order over a debt to former coach Tony Tope Bulus hangs over the club, according to Blueprint.
Enyimba had won two and drawn one of their previous three games under Emmanuel Deutsch. Deutsch told the club’s media before the game that the players must not get carried away by that run.
The defeat will test that message. Fans keen on the NPFL can read the Bet9ja promotion code page before the next game.
