The NPFL has fined Ranchers Bees a total of ₦5 million for multiple rule breaches during their Matchday 6 draw with Rivers United. The league also ordered the club to identify the player captured on video physically assaulting a Rivers United player during the match.

The club has until Thursday, October 1, to name the player so the league can take further disciplinary action. The Summary Jurisdiction decisions were signed on September 29 by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Dr Ayo Abdulrahman.

The Four Breaches

Ranchers Bees were fined ₦2 million under Rule B13.52 for failing to provide adequate and effective security. The league said unauthorised persons gained access to restricted areas of the stadium.

A further ₦1 million fine came under Rule C1.1. The NPFL said the club failed to restrain players and bench officials who intimidated, threatened and harassed the match officials on the field. New bettors following the league can read about Bet9ja’s welcome code offer before the next round.

Another ₦1 million was imposed under Rule C9 because supporters allegedly attempted to attack the match officials. The final ₦1 million fine was for failing to prevent match officials from being held hostage after the game.

What Happened on the Pitch

The game ended 0-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Monday, September 28. The point lifted Ranchers Bees from 15th to 11th, and they have played all six of their league games away from their Kaduna home.

Coach Usman Abd’Allah criticised the officiating after the game, saying his side should have had two penalties. The four breaches in the league’s decision don’t include his comments. NPFL followers who want to test their own predictions can try Bet9ja’s Super9ja prediction contest this weekend.

What Happens Next

Under Rule C26, Ranchers Bees must either accept the sanctions or elect in writing to have the matter heard by a Disciplinary Panel within 48 hours of receiving the notice. The fines are payable within seven working days after the appeal period ends.

On the pitch, Ranchers Bees travel to Ilorin to face Kwara United on Sunday, October 4, at 4pm. It is one of eight NPFL games that afternoon.
