Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari has spoken about the strong sense of team spirit within the Seagulls’ squad, revealing he has taken an active role in helping new signing Zadok Yohanna adjust to life on the south coast.
Adapting to the pace and intensity of the Premier League can be daunting for any new arrival, and Ayari told Swedish outlet Expressen that a shared footballing background has helped him connect with Yohanna. He noted that Yohanna previously played in Sweden, knows AIK, and had even played alongside Ayari’s brother, adding that it’s been enjoyable having him train and play alongside the squad, and that he has tried to support him as much as possible.
Still Early Days For Yohanna
On the question of how quickly Yohanna might adapt fully to Premier League football, Ayari was more cautious, noting that it is difficult to judge given how few matches the defender has played so far. He said the picture would become clearer once Yohanna returns from a spell out and the club can properly assess his progress, adding that not every player needs to follow the same path, and that Yohanna could well be ready sooner than expected.
