Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare came off the bench to salvage a 2-2 draw for Ajax against Excelsior in an entertaining Eredivisie clash at home on Saturday night.
A Match Full Of Twists
Julian Brandt put Ajax ahead just after the half hour mark, only for Excelsior to respond immediately through Lennar Hartjes, who equalised in first half stoppage time. The visitors then completed a turnaround in the 62nd minute when Aymen Sliti fired them into the lead for the first time in the match.
Arokodare Restores Parity
Ajax’s response was swift. Arokodare, on for Kasper Dolberg, needed only two minutes to level the score at 2-2, netting his sixth goal in all competitions for the Dutch giants this season.
Ajax Stay Second
The point keeps Ajax second in the Eredivisie table with 14 points from seven matches. Michel’s side will return to league action on Saturday, October 10, when they host NEC Nijmegen.
