Nigerian winger David Akintola has left Hull City to rejoin Cypriot club Omonia FC, returning to a side he first played for back in 2020.

Hull City have confirmed the departure of Nigerian winger David Akintola, who has left the club to complete a move to Cypriot side Omonia FC. The Tigers said Akintola’s contract was mutually terminated to allow the transfer to go through.
A Return To Cyprus
The 30 year old goes back to Omonia for a second spell, having previously featured for the club in 2020. That first stint was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, though he still managed seven appearances and two goals during his time there.
A Modest Season At Hull
Akintola joined Hull City from Turkish Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor in August 2025, and made 21 appearances for the Tigers in the 2025/26 season, scoring once and setting up two goals, while also featuring in the club’s FA Cup and Carabao Cup campaigns.
A Wide-Ranging Career
The winger has previously turned out for Turkish clubs Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor, along with spells in Norway and Cyprus. He will now look to make an impact in his second stint at Omonia as he continues his career in the Cypriot First Division.
