A Tough Opening Loss
Nigeria fell 2-0 to Spain in their tournament opener on Monday. Marisa Garcia broke the deadlock in the 13th minute following a goalmouth scramble, before Alba Cerrato added a second 17 minutes from time to seal the win for the European side.
Uzoma Rallies The Squad
Despite the setback, Uzoma urged her teammates to keep their heads up and stay focused on the games ahead. Speaking after the match, she said the team could not afford to give up and vowed that, as captain, she would keep encouraging her teammates to fight until the end.
China PR Test Looms
The Falconets will look to open their account at the tournament when they face China PR at the Arena Sosnowiec on Thursday.
