The performance earned Jiaxin the Visa Player of the Match award and put her top of the tournament’s goalscoring charts. Speaking to FIFA.com afterward, she said she was excited to have helped her team win and proud to be the first player to score a hat trick at the competition.
Eyes On Nigeria Next
Asked about her focus shifting to the Golden Boot race, Jiaxin said she would welcome the individual award, but stressed that the team’s attention is now on their next fixture, adding, “which will be a tough game” in reference to facing Nigeria on Thursday.
