Belgian Pro League club Cercle Brugge have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola from Portuguese side AVS Futebol SAD.
Akinsola has signed a contract running until June 2030, with the option of a further year. The 23-year-old, capable of operating on either flank, will link up with his new teammates once administrative formalities are completed.
“He Fits The Way Cercle Wants To Play”
Cercle Brugge technical director Luciano Murchio welcomed the signing, telling the club’s official website that Akinsola is a strong one-on-one player who can be dangerous in the final third and in transition. He praised Akinsola’s versatility across multiple attacking positions and said the club is convinced he will create plenty of dangerous moments in Cercle’s system.
A Journey Through Four Countries
Akinsola began his career in Nigeria with Valiant FC before moving to Swedish club Vasalund at the age of 17. He joined Real Valladolid’s reserve team in 2022, earning promotion to the first-team squad and making his La Liga debut as a substitute against Sevilla the following year. He moved to AVS Futebol SAD on loan at the start of 2024, a switch the Portuguese club made permanent later that year, and went on to establish himself as one of AVS’s standout performers.
