Millwall manager Alex Neil has confirmed that Nigeria winger Femi Azeez will miss Saturday’s home clash against Norwich City through injury.

Azeez started Millwall’s 2-0 win over Bristol City last weekend but was forced off before half time after picking up a knock, which Neil later confirmed was discomfort in his hamstring. The winger has not recovered in time to face Norwich and will sit out the encounter.

“A Slight Strain, Not Significant”

Speaking to BBC Sport, Neil said he was going into Saturday’s game optimistic but with his usual sense of caution, given the quality of a strong Norwich side, adding that Millwall would need to be at their best. On Azeez specifically, he described the issue as a slight strain that isn’t serious, but one that makes it too soon for the winger to feature.

A Timing That Adds Weight To An Ongoing Saga

The injury news arrives amid continued transfer speculation surrounding Azeez, with Hull City leading the chase for the 25 year old and Millwall reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £30 million to sanction any sale. Azeez will hope for a swift recovery and a return to action for the Lions in the coming weeks.
