Hull City are leading the race to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez this summer, with the newly promoted Premier League club working to complete a deal before the season gets fully underway, Complete Sports reports, citing The Sun.
Millwall have already knocked back an early bid worth £14.5 million and are now understood to be holding out for closer to £30 million, a figure that would represent a club-record sale for the Lions. Ipswich Town also showed interest in Azeez in January but have since moved on and signed Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City instead.
A Breakout Season At The Den
Azeez was one of the standout performers in the Championship last season, scoring 11 goals and setting up eight more in 37 league appearances as Millwall reached the play off semi finals under Alex Neil, where they were eliminated by Hull City itself over two legs. His form earned him a place in the Championship Team of the Season and a nomination for Player of the Season, along with the division’s Player of the Month award for February.
The 25 year old is contracted to Millwall until the summer of 2028, giving the club room to negotiate hard rather than sell under pressure.
Growing Reputation With The Super Eagles
Azeez has also featured for Nigeria at senior level, and was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the Unity Cup in May. His path to international football took a winding route he came through non-league football in England before a move to Reading, then joined Millwall from Reading in 2024 for a fee of around £1 million, a bargain given how sharply his value has since risen.
