Newly promoted Italian Serie A side Frosinone have completed the signing of Super Eagles defender Kevin Akpoguma from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim.
The Italian club confirmed the move in an official statement, with the centre back putting pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the Stadio Benito Stirpe until June 30, 2028. Akpoguma joins as a free agent following the expiration of his deal with Hoffenheim, where he had spent thirteen years.
End Of An Era In Germany
Akpoguma becomes the fourth Super Eagles player to move to a newly promoted club in one of Europe’s top five leagues this summer, following forward Akor Adams to Venezia, midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro to Monza, and Frank Onyeka’s permanent switch to Coventry City. A Fresh Test In Serie A
The Super Eagles defender is expected to bring experience and added strength to Frosinone’s backline as the newly promoted side prepares for the 2026/27 Serie A season. After years of regular football in the Bundesliga, Akpoguma will be hoping to play a key role in helping Frosinone establish themselves back in Italy’s top flight.
