Brentford have joined Rangers in the race for Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu, with both clubs weighing up a move for the Super Eagles right back this summer.
Rangers have identified Alebiosu as a potential replacement for former captain James Tavernier, while Brentford are reportedly targeting him as another option to compete with Italy international Michael Kayode. Both clubs sent scouts to monitor the defender during a pre-season match, though he missed the game through illness.
Alebiosu joined Blackburn Rovers from Belgian club KV Kortrijk for a fee of around £500,000 last summer and quickly established himself as a key figure at Ewood Park, scoring once and providing five assists in 39 Championship appearances.
The right-back is also attracting interest from clubs in Italy and Germany. Blackburn rejected a €5 million bid from Italian side Genoa for the player back in January.
