Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru’s spell at Genclerbirligi has come to an early end, with the Turkish Super Lig club and the player mutually agreeing to terminate his contract following talks with his representatives.

Both parties reached a settlement worth approximately 940,000 euros to facilitate the termination. Under the agreement, Onyekuru will receive 240,000 euros in outstanding wages from last season, along with 700,000 euros as compensation for the remaining value of his contract for the upcoming campaign. The full amount is set to be paid in instalments over a six month period.

Before the termination, Onyekuru had been due to earn 1.6 million euros in salary for the new season. The 29 year old had joined Genclerbirligi on a free transfer last summer following his exit from Saudi club Al-Fayha, going on to make 17 league appearances for the club.
