Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman described his first goal for Atletico Madrid as a “dream start” after scoring on his debut in a dominant 5–0 Copa del Rey quarter-final win over Real Betis. The Nigeria international also provided an assist as Atleti booked their place in the semifinals.

The Nigerian’s contribution continued in the second half when he set up Antoine Griezmann for Atletico’s fourth goal, combining effectively in a display of speed and creativity. Thiago Almada completed the rout with a late fifth.
The comprehensive victory booked Atletico’s place in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, where they will learn their next opponents following Friday’s draw.
After the match, Lookman spoke about his joy at scoring and assisting on his first appearance for Atletico Madrid. He described the moment as special, highlighting how the club’s environment helped him settle quickly.
