Editorial

Early exposure to sports is crucial in shaping the future of young athletes. At MOK Foundation, we are particularly pleased to see leaders like Muhydeen Kayode Okunlola taking this idea seriously. His vision for empowering youths through sports development reflects a broader understanding of how sports can instil discipline, focus, and ambition in young individuals.

We believe that youth sports programs should not only be about winning or developing professional athletes but also about providing a platform where talents can be nurtured. Okunlola’s commitment to ensuring that young people, especially those at grassroots levels, have access to such opportunities is commendable. By venturing into football and volleyball, he opens doors for young athletes to aspire to global recognition while contributing positively to their personal development.

The Olalomi Royal Queensโ€™ achievements so far under Okunlola’s guidance prove the transformative power of sports in youth empowerment. As the players continue to excel, we are convinced that the influence of such initiatives will extend beyond the volleyball court. These athletes are learning life lessons teamwork, perseverance, and determination that will benefit them long after their playing careers are over.

We hope that more stakeholders in both private and public sectors will recognise the importance of investing in youth sports. The future of Nigerian sports, and indeed the future of our youth, depends on it.
