Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo is on the cusp of potentially claiming a third major trophy in 2025 as she leads AFC Toronto into the inaugural Northern Super League (NSL) final.
This remarkable season for Okoronkwo already includes a WAFCON title where she played a pivotal role and the NSL Supporters’ Shield, which Toronto clinched as regular-season leaders.
In the semifinal, Okoronkwo made history at the snow-slicked York Lions Stadium, netting a quick-fire hat-trick in under 27 minutes to power Toronto to a 4–1 second-leg win over the Montreal Roses, sealing a dominant 6–1 aggregate victory.
Toronto now face Vancouver Rise FC on November 15 at BMO Field in a winner-takes-all match to secure the league’s first-ever NSL championship.
Having been named Player of the Month earlier in the season, Okoronkwo’s form and leadership have become central to AFC Toronto’s push for silverware.
