The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced the shortlist of nominees for its January Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards as the league recognises standout performers from the opening month of 2026. Five NWFL stars made the Player of the Month shortlist, representing clubs from across the league. The nominees are:

  • Abasiofon Uwah
  • Kareem Ramatalahi (Rivers Angels)
  • Ismail Zainab (Ekiti Queens)
  • Akekoromowei Janet (Bayelsa Queens)
  • Atume Doosur (Edo Queens)

These players were recognised for their attacking contributions, consistency and influence on their teams’ results throughout January.
