Amaju to Discuss sports infrastructure problems at University of Ibadan

On October 29, 2024, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, former President of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF and a FIFA Council member, will deliver a distinguished lecture at the University of Ibadan on the urgent need for improved sports infrastructure and maintenance in Nigeria. This lecture, titled The Challenges of Sports Infrastructure and Maintenance in Nigeria: Prospects for Podium Performance, is part of the university’s Faculty of Education’s Personality Guest Lecture series and will be held at Trenchard Hall at 11 a.m.

Pinnick, who also holds a position on the Confederation of African Football’s Executive Committee, is expected to share his expertise on the critical role of quality sports infrastructure in enhancing competitive performance and youth development. Professor Olufemi Adegbesan, Dean of the Faculty of Education, highlighted Pinnick’s dedication to sports advancement as a key reason for inviting him to speak.

The event, under the leadership of University Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Adebowale, will feature notable attendees from the sports sector, including Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, and Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the NFF.
