Tornadoes Boss Slams “Bad Day” After 2–0 Loss to Kwara United

Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Majin Mohammed admitted frustration after his side’s 2–0 defeat at home to Kwara United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 16 encounter in Ilorin.

The match was settled in the first half Bright Babatunde struck in the 15th minute, then the visitors doubled the lead via an own goal from a Tornadoes defender eight minutes before the break.

Mohammed was candid in his post-match reaction. He said: “If there is anything called a bad day in football, I think Tornadoes had one today. Kwara United scored twice and we suffered two injuries, all in the first half, which destabilised our game plan.”

He acknowledged that Kwara United “showed class” and were well prepared for the game and stressed that league standings don’t always reflect readiness or performance on the day.

Looking ahead, Tornadoes hope to regroup quickly their next game is at home against El‑Kanemi Warriors this weekend at Bako Kotangora Stadium, Minna.
