Solution FC have officially announced Willy Udube as their new head coach for the 2025-26 season in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Udube becomes the club’s sixth coach in just two years, highlighting the managerial turbulence at the club. He replaces Gabriel Ezema, who has been appointed Assistant Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national team.
The new coach confirmed his appointment, saying: “Yes, I’m now the Head Coach of Solution Football Club.” He also revealed that the team is finalising preparations ahead of the NNL kick-off, with the club drawn in Conference B of the league.
Udube brings a wealth of experience: he previously coached clubs such as Go Round FC, Abia Warriors, Rivers United, Heartland FC and Elde FC before taking the reins at the Awka-based club.
Editorial
In the often-unstable world of second-tier Nigerian football, coaching appointments are not just administrative decisions they are declarations of intent. Solution FC’s choice of Willy Udube is precisely that a signal that they intend to move beyond managerial churn and towards sustained identity.
Udube inherits a club seeking not just stability but tangible progression. His early remarks anchored in finalising preparations, instilling belief, and competing from day one are more than rhetoric they reflect a deeper understanding of what the league demands. For Solution FC, the real challenge will be to translate this appointment into culture, results and continuity.
What stands out is the lineage of the coach. Udube has coached at various levels, understands the Nigerian terrain, and now must adapt it to Conference B of the NNL. If well-supported, his presence could shift Solution from transitional club to contender. If not, the cycle of change may continue.
In the broader context of Nigerian football, Solution’s move is emblematic of a necessary evolution: clubs appointing coaches not for the interim role, but for the build-up, not to steady a wobble, but to steer a course. The season ahead is not just about the games it’s about the plan.
