Former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin has strongly backed Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, insisting the Napoli forward fully deserves his reported earnings of €10–15 million (₦18–27 billion) annually. Speaking on Turkish TV channel Ekol TV, Engin praised Osimhen’s value, dismissing criticisms about his salary amid rumours linking him with Galatasaray.
“Osimhen is not getting 9 million euros; he’s getting 10–15 million with bonuses. And he deserves it. Nobody talks about it because he’s worth it,” Engin said.
He also compared Osimhen favourably to Ciro Immobile and Alvaro Morata, claiming the Nigerian is far superior despite earning similar wages. Turning his focus to Fenerbahçe, Engin criticised their current strike force, stating that even if Youssef En-Nesyri scored 40 goals, he still wouldn’t be a fitting centre forward for the club. He added that had Osimhen been playing for Fenerbahçe, they would already be eight points clear at the top of the table.
