South African club Stellenbosch FC has completed the signing of Nigerian defender Enyinnaya Kazie on a free transfer. The 25 year old moves to Stellenbosch after his contract with Rivers United, a Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL team, expired.
Kazie played over 160 matches for Rivers United, contributing significantly to their NPFL title win in the 2021/22 season. Expressing his delight, Kazie said, “First of all, I want to thank God for bringing me here after a long wait. I’m very happy to be here and part of the Stellenbosch family.”
He praised the club’s achievements, including their run to the MTN8 final this season and participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, and vowed to bring his experience to further the club’s successes. Kazie will wear jersey number 16 and is set to make his debut next month.
