Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that young defender David Odogun has signed a scholarship contract and will join the clubโs underโ18 setup for the upcoming season. Odogun, previously with Wolverhampton Wanderers, is the latest Nigerian talent to link up with the clubโs promising youth cohort.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Dennis has finalised a loan move from Nottingham Forest to Blackburn Rovers in a bid to revive his career in the Championship. The 27 year old former Super Eagles striker struggled for game time at Forest and had a brief spell at Istanbul Baลakลehir. Now, he arrives at Ewood Park hoping to follow the footsteps of Nigerian great Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who scored 18 goals in 33 matches during his time at the club.
Dennis becomes the fourth Nigerian to join Blackburn joining the ranks of Yakubu, Dickson Etuhu and Hope Akpan. His loan is the club’s third of the January window and sixth overall, as part of their push for promotion.
Speaking to the clubโs media team, Dennis said โRovers are in a very good position and the team plays good football, so I hope I can add a bit of something. Goals are no problem, but I also like having fun, showing tricks, nutmegs and exciting the fansโ.

We applaud Blackburnโs dual investment securing both David Odogun and Emmanuel Dennis as a powerful statement of belief in Nigerian talent. Odogunโs scholarship signals faith in longโterm youth development, while Dennisโs loan deal showcases Blackburnโs ambition to add immediate firepower.
Our shared optimism stems from the clubโs balanced approach: nurturing youth while boosting firstโteam quality. Odogunโs move from Wolves offers him a clear path into a respected academy, one known for developing top talent. At the same time, Dennis brings topโlevel experience and creativity to a side pushing towards promotion.
This twin strategy reflects a modern vision built on both pipeline and performance. It showcases the confidence Blackburn has in young academies and the impact a seasoned player can immediately deliver. A club that invests in future stars while strengthening todayโs squad is one moving with clarity and purpose.
We are confident this approach will yield results. By blending youthful potential with professional ambition, Blackburn is setting the foundation for sustained success.
