AIK Stockholm Snap Up Nigerian Midfield Talent

Swedish top-flight side AIK Stockholm have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Henry Offia on a free transfer. Offia, 24, joins the club after parting ways with fellow Swedish team Trelleborgs FF. AIK announced Offia’s arrival on Friday via their official website, confirming he has inked a deal that runs until the end of the 2026 season. The midfielder will don jersey number 20 at his new club.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Offia expressed his excitement: “It feels fantastic to finally be here. AIK is a big club with amazing fans, and I can’t wait to play in front of them and do everything I can to help the team succeed.”

Offia has spent his professional career in Sweden, initially moving to the country in 2018 to sign with IK Sirius. His journey continued with a loan move to Sollentuna FK in 2020 before he joined Dalkurd FF. In 2022, he made a switch to Trelleborgs FF, where he made 48 league appearances and scored nine goals.

Offia has also featured for Nigeria at the U20 level and was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland, making three appearances during the tournament.
