Former Nigerian international Garba Lawal has urged Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi to seize any opportunity to play in Spain’s La Liga without hesitation.
Lawal, known for his own successful international career and deep understanding of European football, believes Sanusi’s playing style would be better suited to Spanish football. He stated that La Liga’s technical and tactical nature aligns well with the strengths of the FC Porto defender.
Sanusi has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, and Lawal insists that if a Spanish club makes a move, the 27 year old should waste no time in making the switch.

Garba Lawal’s advice couldn’t be more timely. Zaidu Sanusi has proven himself at FC Porto, showing explosive pace, stamina, and defensive awareness attributes that would thrive in Spain’s tactically demanding environment.
At this stage in his career, Sanusi needs a league that will not only test his limits but also elevate his game technically. La Liga’s emphasis on positional play, technical finesse, and possession-based football could offer the perfect platform for his growth.
Nigeria’s national team would benefit from having more players exposed to the rigours of top-tier Spanish football. Sanusi at a club like Real Sociedad, Real Betis, or even Sevilla could be a defining chapter in his career and possibly the final step before entering the elite tier of world football.
