Delta Queens secured a commanding 2-0 victory over Benue Queens in their NWFL Week 2 match at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, thanks to a first-half brace by Adam Princess. The ten-time NWFL champions bounced back strongly after a season opening loss to Bayelsa Queens.

Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr Onoriode Oborevwori, praised the team’s “superlative performance” and encouraged them to sharpen their finishing ahead of their clash with Adamawa Queens. Meanwhile, Delta State House Committee on Sports Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Sinebe, and Delta State Football Association Chairman, Chief Godwin Adode, commended the players for their efforts and emphasised the need for consistency.

Coach Peter Dedevbo applauded his team’s spirit but noted the need to improve on missed opportunities. “We’ll correct those errors ahead of the Adamawa Queens game,” he stated, expressing gratitude for the management’s support. On the other hand, Benue Queens’ Coach Liadi Bashiru remained optimistic despite the defeat, describing his team as “one for the future” and vowing to make tactical improvements.
