Legendary Brazilian forward Marta has praised Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for her performance during the 2024 Olympic Games clash between Brazil and Nigeria. The match, held at the Stade Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux, ended with a 1-0 victory for Brazil.
Marta had a goal disallowed for offside in the 36th minute but later provided the assist for the game’s only goal, scored by Gabi Nunes. Despite the disallowed goal, Marta lauded Nnadozie’s abilities, labelling her as a great goalkeeper.
It was frustrating the disallowed goal, of course. But the most important thing is that we didn’t complain, we kept chasing and then we managed to find a pass for Gabi, she was lucky and scored the winning goal. I saw Gabi’s movement, I managed to pass it perfectly and she hit a great shot, beating the Nigerian goalkeeper, who is a great goalkeeper, Marta told Globo.
Nnadozie has been in excellent form, having posted four consecutive clean sheets in the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games, with notable performances against Cameroon and South Africa.
