Kakawa FC Halts Fima FC’s Perfect Start in DSL Week 4 Thriller

Kakawa FC stunned league leaders Fima FC with a narrow 1–0 win in Week 4 of the Dynasty Scouting League DSL, ending their opponents’ flawless start to the 2025 season. The match took place on Thursday, March 27, at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

Before this encounter, Fima FC had been flying high, topping the DSL table with three consecutive wins. In contrast, Kakawa FC had endured a tough start, managing only one point from three matches. Yet, it was the Epe based side that pulled off the upset, thanks to a composed second-half finish by James Jaja.

Jaja’s decisive goal also earned him the TSM Man of the Match Award, presented by Trailblazer Sport Management. Kakawa FC’s head coach, Attai Usman, praised his team’s energy and midfield control, highlighting tactical changes as key to the win.

With this result, Kakawa FC now move up to 9th place on the DSL standings with four points from four games. They will next face B.E Arena FA in Week 5.

Sometimes, football reminds us why it’s the most unpredictable sport on the planet. Kakawa FC’s triumph over a red-hot Fima FC side is exactly that kind of reminder. A team with no wins in three tries, facing a top of the table side riding a wave of momentum and yet, it was Kakawa that emerged victorious. It’s a result that speaks not only to tactical execution but to belief.

Credit must go to Attai Usman and his squad. When backs are against the wall, the response is everything. Kakawa didn’t just show up they showed heart. Their intensity from the first whistle and a clear strategy to dominate the midfield paid off. It wasn’t a fluke; it was a game won with grit and smart football.

This is the sort of win that can turn a season around. For players like James Jaja, it’s also a statement performance stepping up when it matters most. In a league like the DSL, where the margin between contenders and strugglers is thin, moments like these become defining.

As for Fima FC, this is the kind of reality check every strong side needs. Winning streaks don’t last forever, and it’s how they respond that will show their true title credentials. But make no mistake this night belonged to Kakawa.
