Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has been handed a timely fitness boost with the return of Igoh Ogbu to action for Slavia Prague ahead of next month’s Unity Cup in London. The central defender made his first appearance since sustaining a muscle injury during the March international break.

Ogbu was sidelined for several matches, including domestic league ties against Dukla Prague, Hradec Králové, and Karvina, as well as a MOL Cup clash with Sigma Olomouc. However, the 25 year old was reintroduced in the 76th minute during Slavia’s 2–0 win over FC Slovacko on Saturday, helping see out the result with the team already leading 1–0.

The Nigerian, who has been a crucial part of Slavia’s defence this season, has contributed to an impressive 17 clean sheets across all competitions. His consistency makes him a strong contender for inclusion in the national squad after missing out on debut appearances during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
