Southampton have confirmed that Princewill Ehibhatiomhan, the younger brother of Benin City-born forward Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, has joined Swindon Town on a season-long loan, subject to EFL approval. The 19-year-old striker signed a new deal with the Saints just a month prior to his move.
In the 2024โ25 Premier League 2 season, Princewill emerged as a key performer for Southamptonโs under-21 side, scoring 12 goals and registering three assists across 30 appearances. He joined Southamptonโs academy from Reading at 16 and signed his first professional contract in 2023.
Although he is yet to make a senior appearance for the first team, he featured regularly in training last season. He will wear the number 20 jersey at Swindon Town, becoming their eleventh signing of the summer window. He is the second Nigerian striker to depart Southampton this summer, following the loan of Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu.

We view this as a well-timed step in Princewillโs development. Having just extended his contract, the loan to Swindon Town offers him vital first-team exposure in a competitive environment. Itโs the kind of opportunity that can transform a promising academy player into a confident professional.
We are heartened by his impressive Premier League 2 recordโ12 goals and three assists in 30 matches speak to both consistency and impact. The fact he has trained with the senior squad underscores his potential, and this move may accelerate his progression.
We trust that Swindon Town will provide the platform he needs to flourish. He has the chance now to test himself regularly, sharpen his tactical awareness, and prove that he can thrive beyond youth football. It may well be the beginning of a career that honours both his talent and his ambition.
