Thirty women coaches in Nigeria have taken another step toward earning their CAF C-License after successfully completing the second module of a three part coaching course in Abuja. The program, which is being held at the NFF/FIFA Technical Centre located in the MKO Abiola National Stadium, aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of these coaches, empowering them to contribute significantly to football development in the country.
The first module, held from July 15th to 25th, provided the coaches with foundational knowledge and was followed by a two week internship at various football clubs. This practical experience allowed participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge under the supervision of seasoned coaches.
The second module, which began on Monday and will conclude on Friday, August 16th, is being overseen by NFF Technical Director Augustine Eguavoen, who praised the participants’ discipline and commitment. Upon completing this module, the coaches will undergo another two week internship from August 23rd to September 4th to further refine their practical skills.
The course will culminate with a final module in September, followed by examinations to assess the participants’ grasp of the material and their readiness to earn the CAF C-License.
Led by a distinguished team of educators, including Dr. Terry Babatunde Eguaoje and respected coaches like Isah Ladan Bosso, the course also features former Super Falcons stars such as Precious Dede and Joy Jegede, as well as retired FIFA referee Folusho Ajayi. This initiative represents a significant step forward in the development of female football coaches in Nigeria, aiming to inspire the next generation of football talent.
