Jamilu Collins’ time with Cardiff City is coming to an end after the club’s relegation to League One was confirmed following a goalless draw against West Brom. Cardiff’s failure to secure survival leaves them five points adrift of safety with one game remaining in the Championship season.
The Super Eagles defender, who has been surplus to requirements since January 2025, will not follow the Bluebirds into the third tier. Cardiff attempted to offload Collins during the winter transfer window without success and later explored terminating his contract. He has already been informed that his deal, which expires in two months, will not be renewed.
Since joining from SC Paderborn in 2022, Collins has made 44 appearances, scoring one goal and assisting four. However, after a pre-season injury and stiff competition, he struggled to regain his spot, last featuring for Cardiff in November 2024 against Coventry City.
The 29 year old Nigerian now faces a new chapter as he seeks fresh opportunities ahead of the 2025/26 season.
