Daniel Edeh Reflects on Career Highlights and Dreams of Bigger Stages

Daniel Edeh’s football journey, from humble beginnings on the muddy pitches of Agbara, Ogun State, to memorable battles against African giants, has been a tale of perseverance and steady growth. The Nigerian defender, who started with Ralek FA and later featured for Unique Star FA of Abuja, has crafted a career defined by resilience.

His professional career kicked off at Osun United in the 2018/2019 season under Coach Samson Unael. A brief spell at Kwara United followed, though it did not unfold as hoped. Edeh’s move to Niger Tornadoes proved pivotal, where he helped secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League and featured in three NPFL matches before an overseas opportunity beckoned.

A move to Egypt’s El Gouna FC brought mixed fortunes. Despite a tough start marked by relegation, Daniel stuck with the club and celebrated their immediate promotion back to the Egyptian Premier League, earning a fresh two year contract.

After mutually parting ways with El Gouna, Edeh returned home, joining Sunshine Stars midway through the current NPFL season. Battling relegation once more, he remains optimistic “It’s been up and down since I arrived. But if we can win three straight matches, we will survive,” he stated.

Edeh dreams of lifting a league title and representing Nigeria on the international stage. His fondest memory remains facing Al Ahly and Zamalek, two of Africa’s most storied clubs. Despite defeats to both, the experience left a lasting mark on his career “Their history and stature speak volumes,” he reflected.
