Nigeria goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has been officially unveiled by his new Sudanese club, Al Merreikh. The 28 year old was introduced at the club’s base in Omdurman on Tuesday and has signed a two year contract with the team. Olorunleke joins Al Merreikh after a successful three year stint with Nigerian Premier Football League champions Enyimba, where he won the NPFL title two seasons ago.
This move marks Olorunleke’s first experience playing for a club outside Nigeria. His previous clubs include Kano Pillars, Sunshine Stars, Akwa United, and Abia Warriors. Additionally, he was Nigeria’s third-choice goalkeeper at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
