Super Eagles hopeful Christantus Uche has been nominated for La Liga’s U23 Player of the Month for February 2025 after delivering standout performances for Getafe.
Uche is competing for the award against Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Valencia’s Javi Guerra, Real Betis’ Jesús Rodríguez, and Celta de Vigo’s Javi Rodríguez.
Despite his impressive form, Uche will miss Getafe’s upcoming clash against Real Betis due to suspension. He accumulated five yellow cards, triggering an automatic one-match ban, which ended his streak of 24 consecutive La Liga appearances.
Meanwhile, his performances have reportedly caught the attention of English Premier League clubs, with Brentford among those monitoring his progress. The Nigerian forward remains under contract with Getafe until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.
