Ndidi Appointed Vice-Captain at Beşiktaş J.K.

Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been appointed as the vice-captain of Turkish giants Beşiktaş, following a decision by club president Serdal Adalı and the board of directors.

In the official announcement, Beşiktaş confirmed that Ndidi joins Orkun Kökçü as part of the leadership team: Kökçü will serve as first-captain, while Ndidi is named second captain. The statement emphasises the club’s intent to place the armband on players “who can play in a more effective position on the field.”

Ndidi’s appointment comes after his recent move from Leicester City F.C.to Beşiktaş in a deal worth around €8 million, signing a three-year contract with option for a fourth year.

The Nigeria star, known for his defensive midfield discipline and leadership qualities, receives the vice-captaincy badge at a club where he is expected to play a key role both on and off the pitch, directing younger players and helping shape the squad’s mentality.
