His standout performance came during the season opener, where he scored a hat-trick in West Brom’s victory over Queens Park Rangers.
Maja’s impressive scoring run continued with goals in three consecutive away matches against Stoke City, Portsmouth, and Sheffield Wednesday. Of his 12 goals, eight were scored on the road, while four came at home, including a New Year’s Day double in a 3-1 win over Preston North End.
The former Sunderland Academy product made his Super Eagles debut under coach Gernot Rohr in a friendly against Ukraine. Although yet to feature in a competitive match for Nigeria, Maja remains eligible to represent England due to his international status.
