Ubaso Nwaozuzu is a passionate Nigerian football journalist, writer, and the founder and editor-in-chief of Football In Nigeria. His love for the game is lifelong — rooted in watching the Super Eagles light up AFCON stadiums, debating NPFL fixtures, and following every Nigerian footballer making waves on the continent and beyond.
Ubaso launched Football In Nigeria in January 2024 because he saw a glaring gap in the media landscape: a lack of dedicated, serious, and nuanced coverage of Nigerian football that treated fans as the intelligent, knowledgeable audience they are. Too many platforms covered the Super Eagles only when tournaments arrived. Too few paid attention to the NPFL week-in, week-out. Too little space existed for the stories of young Nigerians scouted from grassroots tournaments and thrust into European football.
He set out to change that — building Football In Nigeria from the ground up as a platform where every article is crafted with care, every claim is verified, and every story honours the game and the people who play it.
