Marseille are reportedly open to selling or loaning Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi when the January transfer window opens. The Ligue 1 club are willing to part ways with the midfielder as he continues to struggle for game time this season.
The defensive midfielder joined Marseille from Belgian side Zulte Waregem in January 2026. He made eight appearances in the second half of last season.
This season, Nnadi has found regular minutes hard to come by. According to Get French Football News, Marseille do not consider him indispensable to their plans.
The report says the club would accept either a permanent sale or a loan. Fans following Nigerian players in Europe can also check this Bet9ja offer breakdown before the next round of games.
Financial Pressure at the Vélodrome
Money is part of the picture. Marseille are under scrutiny from French football’s financial watchdog, the DNCG, after failing to meet its financial requirements in June.
French reports also say the DNCG has placed limits on the club’s wage bill and transfer spending.
That puts pressure on Marseille to balance their books. A sale or a loan would ease the burden on the wage bill.
Nnadi did get a lift on Sunday, setting up a goal in Marseille’s win over Angers. Even so, one assist has not changed the club’s thinking, according to the report. Readers who follow Ligue 1 can also claim Bet9ja’s YOHAIG welcome deal before the next fixtures.
What a Move Could Mean
A January exit could give Nnadi the minutes he needs. A move could also help him strengthen his position in the Super Eagles picture.
Is leaving the right call? Playing time matters at his stage of his career, and sitting on the bench for months can hurt both a player’s value and his development.
Nnadi chose not to push for a move in the summer, and reports at the time said Marseille also planned to keep him for midfield depth.
So what changed? Reports point to limited minutes under coach Bruno Genesio and the club’s financial position. Anyone planning a bet on Marseille’s next game can read about the Bet9ja bonus code first.
Marseille host Toulouse on Sunday, November 1, so there is a chance for Nnadi to make his case on the pitch. The winter window is still weeks away.
For now, nothing is confirmed. January will show whether Nnadi’s future lies at Marseille or elsewhere.
