Wilfred Ndidi has said Besiktas are ready for Crystal Palace when the sides meet at the Tupras Stadium in Istanbul on Thursday night in the Europa League. Kickoff is at 8pm Nigerian time.
Besiktas have won both of their league-phase games so far, beating Marseille 4-1 and then winning 3-2 away at Hoffenheim. That puts them fourth in the 36 team table on six points, with seven goals scored. Fans following the Europa League can check Bet9ja booking code details.
Palace sit 15th, having won once and lost once. They beat Lech Poznan 4-0 at home before losing 3-2 at Lyon. They also lost 5-0 at Brighton in their last Premier League game.
Ndidi said he and his team mates are focused on playing as a team at home. “Our home is our temple,” he told a press conference.
He described Palace as a good team and said Besiktas have faced strong opposition before. The Nigeria international acknowledged that English teams are used to a high tempo and intensity, but said Besiktas have the experience and quality to cope.
He added that the squad is ready, must keep going, and is looking forward to the game. New Bet9ja users can claim Bet9ja’s YOHAIG sign-up route.
Ndidi came on in Besiktas’s 2-0 defeat at Trabzonspor on Monday, a game in which captain Orkun Kokcu was missing through injury. Kokcu and Milot Rashica are both out, so Ndidi and Salih Ozcan are expected to anchor the midfield.
Besiktas are coached by Vincenzo Italiano, and they sit fifth in the Super Lig, one place behind Trabzonspor. Palace have conceded in the first ten minutes in each of their last three games, which is a worry for them in Istanbul.
