All 20 clubs in the Euromatch NPFL shared the first tranche of the league’s title sponsorship fee on Friday, October 2, at a ceremony in Abuja. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Dr Ayo Abdulrahman confirmed that the clubs have received the agreed percentage of the money the league has collected so far.
He stressed that the full annual payment hasn’t yet reached the league. “We haven’t yet received all the amount for the year,” he said.
What the $7.5m Means
Abdulrahman said the $7.5 million is the total value of the three year package, not the money already received by the NPFL or its clubs. The deal is worth $2.5 million a year, and he said earlier reports of about $1 million were wrong. NPFL followers can check the YOHAIG Bet9ja new-user code before the new round.
The sponsor, Euromatch Group, is a Warsaw-based investment company that focuses on technology in the gaming industry. The deal was announced in Abuja on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, ending the league’s search for a title sponsor that lasted about a decade.
How the Money Is Split
At the August launch, NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said 60 percent of the annual proceeds, or $1.5 million, would go straight to the 20 clubs. At the reported exchange rate, that is about ₦2.019 billion a year for the clubs combined.
Elegbeleye said the funds should help raise player wages and urged clubs to make sure players feel the benefit. Fans new to betting on the league can read Bet9ja’s promo code basics.
What Comes Next
NPFL action continues on Saturday, October 3, with Kano Pillars against Sporting Lagos and Doma United against Warri Wolves, both at 4pm. Eight more games follow on Sunday.
The money matters because club finances are a long-standing problem. Analysts have pointed to the lack of sponsorship as a key challenge for Nigerian clubs.
