The Flamingos dominated possession and applied sustained pressure from the opening whistle, but a disciplined Burkina Faso defence held firm throughout a closely contested first half, with the two sides heading into the break level at 0-0 despite several promising Nigerian chances.
Dunstan And Adegbuyi Break The Deadlock Late
Nigeria came out with renewed intensity after the restart, pushing Burkina Faso deeper into their own half. The persistence eventually paid off in the 82nd minute when Mary Dunstan produced a composed finish to give the Flamingos the lead. Burkina Faso struggled to respond, and the result was sealed deep into stoppage time when Oluwakemi Adegbuyi found the net to make it 2-0.
A Perfect Record So Far
The win means the Flamingos have collected a maximum nine points from three matches, maintaining their unbeaten record in the competition as they turn their attention to their next fixture in pursuit of the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup title.
