Nigerian forward Gift Orban continued his remarkable start to life at Amedspor, scoring and providing an assist as the newly promoted side beat Besiktas 3-2 in a dramatic Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday, moving to the top of the table in the process.
A Long Range Opener, Then A Quickfire Assist
Orban opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful strike from around 25 metres out, before turning provider nine minutes later, setting up Dia Saba to make it 2-0. The goal extended his prolific run in the Turkish top flight to four straight league matches with a goal, taking his tally to seven goals and two assists in just six appearances.
Besiktas Fight Back But Fall Short
Former Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic pulled a goal back for Besiktas ten minutes into the second half, but Furkan Soyalp quickly restored Amedspor’s two-goal cushion to make it 3-1. Amedspor were reduced to ten men six minutes from time after Amadou Cisse was shown a straight red card, and Besiktas made them pay in the 98th minute when Orkun Kokcu converted a penalty to set up a tense finish. Amedspor held on regardless to seal a famous 3-2 win.

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi remained an unused substitute for Besiktas throughout the match, watching on as his side suffered defeat to the division’s surprise pace setters.
