Enyimba goalkeeper Godswill Etum has been ruled out for two weeks after sustaining an injury during Friday morning’s training session, a fresh setback for the nine time NPFL champions as they continue searching for their first win of the season.
A Collision With An Attacker
Etum, who joined Enyimba from Wikki Tourists at the start of the campaign, picked up the injury attempting to deny an attacker during a training drill. Technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch confirmed the injury to reporters, explaining that the goalkeeper had contact with an attacker who was trying to score, and that a club doctor has assessed the knock and expects him to be sidelined for around two weeks.
A Difficult Spell For Enyimba
The injury adds to a tough start to the season for the People’s Elephant, who remain without a win after two matches. Enyimba will look to turn their fortunes around when they host Inter Lagos at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday, though they will have to do so without their first-choice goalkeeper between the posts.
